haunting refrain

really peaceful morning. i woke up and immediately said goodbye to a friend who had spent the night. i had left a clementine on my desk the night prior, so i ate that. my mother has been really into making bread, so i had some of her newest baguette as well. i did homework, and then i read. i'm still reading "letters to milena." my issue is i like to read three books at the same time, and then it collectively takes me months to read them, let alone finish them. maybe that's metaphorical. i never was a girl who could finish a project.

last night, i went with emily to a late night screening of satoshi kon's "perfect blue." undoubtably one of the best films of all time. if you haven't seen it, please do. literally so insane. the story, the meaning, the ANIMATION. i was saying with emily, it would not have hit nearly as hard if it were live action. anime is so fucking cool. anyways, i don't even think i can go into detail about that movie yet because i'm still reeling. damn.

jazz is so in. jazz is sooooo in. jazz will be in forever. i can't listen to anything else. nat king cole, john coltrane, stan getz, BILLIE HOLIDAY. there is nothing greater.

new boygenius dropped and i'm not alright. also, i'm remembering i ate a peach in addition to the clementine this morning. it wasn't great. it's now sitting a quarter of the way eaten on my windowsill. sad to think about the fact that it's no longer peach season. this summer was mourned greatly, but it's good to be gone. new things are coming! it's exciting. there is so much love everywhere, we just have to figure out what to do with it. i'll let you know if we find out!

this was short but sweet. everything is turning out sweet. it was a good morning.
